Yesterday, Kate, Brittaney & I went shopping around Plaza de Armas. Found a cute pair of earrings & a black purse that will fit my school stuff in it. (I felt a little silly going to work in my business attire & carrying a beach bag type purse ... clashed massively! ha) The purse was only like 6.000 pesos ($12) so I was stoked. It was also Valeria's birthday, so I went to her house to celebrate with her & her friends. Around 12, we all headed out to the club that she had rented out for the night (well, she was sharing it w/ some other girl who had rented it out for the night for her bday- so it was just the 2 birthday parties & their subsequent friends--people couldn't just come in off the street...) It was a lot of fun, but around 3 I couldn't stand the smoke any longer & left. Luckily, the club was super close to my apt, so the taxi back was only 800 pesos!

So this past week was pretty fabulous. I have a full schedule at night now- I love my new classes. One in an intermediate class with two students, and one is an advanced class with 4. The advanced class we're watching the movie "As Good As It Gets" (which reminds me- i need to watch that today...haha, I've never seen it). Basically, we watch like 5 minutes of the movie per class, they have to try to listen and repeat lines from the movie that have important vocab/popular slang, we talk about what the characters did/why ... what will happen next. I "traded" some classes for Spanish classes next week- so Mon & Wed I'll have an 1.5 hr class before I teach my English classes. It's not a true trade- they deduct the spanish teacher's pay rate from our paycheck at the end of the month, but they're giving us the classes at 'wholesale' value if you will, and not what they charge randoms off the street.
