sunday funday

Well, the "lazy" Sunday turned out not to be so lazy. I went with Kate and her friends Tosh(american) and Antonio (Chilean) to the artist's house. The tour was in Spanish, and I only caught maybe 1/4 of what was said, but Kate explained after we finished what I missed. I need to remember to keep paying attention to what they're saying. I'm used to just tuning people out, cuz that's what I would do in Japan...uh, I can't understand you, so I'm just going to stop listening-BUT i forget that I CAN understand people here if I really try and listen closely. Or at least, I can get the general gist of what's going on...

Anyways, afterwards we were walking home, and there are tons of sidewalk restaurants along this one street, so we stopped to share some beer..which turned into two, which turned into 3... which led into everyone coming back to the house- technically it's an apartment I suppose, but it's extremely large for here in Chile/what most of our friends have- and we made dinner which was chased down with several bottles of wine. I had to be up early(ish) so I didn't drink much after dinner - esp after Fri night, but the others did, and now they're struggling today..hahaa, we keep taking turns it seems.

Spanish class went really well today! My brain has decided to return and function so I'm happy! I hope that it continues to grace me with its presence in class the rest of the week. =) So far an excellent start to the week- I have just enough time for a quick nap before preparing for my lesson tonight!
