week in review

So last week was pretty busy, here's the basic lowdown:

*finished my spanish classes...they were really helpful, and I'm nervous that w/o them, it's going to be difficult to pick up this language. Plus, now I don't have 3 hours of spanish being forced down my throat - speaking at home is so much more difficult since it's so much easier to just speak English

*Jordan (the girl from my spanish class) and I went to a short film that one of our spanish teachers produced Friday night. Lots of fun.

*Saturday night, we had another dinner party at our house. It was potluck style, and we had waaaay too much food, which we've been slowing consuming this week. Kate & Brittaney's friends from work came, and so did Gaby&David, and Emma's French friends, so it was a very international fiesta.

*Sunday, Kate, Laura, Tim and I (laura & tim work w/ kate too) played soccer in the park. It was a nice grey day, so we went out, and tried to dodge all the dog shit in the park (not possible). I managed to drill a pigeon with the ball (it was laying down, and it tried to fly away when it saw the ball coming, but flew right into it) I frickin' nailed it...it was kinda sad, but everyone found it hilarious.

*Yesterday was Brittaney's birthday. We went shopping at the Santa Lucia market in the Centro. I bought a fabulous alpaca sweater for like $12. It's amazing. It has alpaca on it. We went out to dinner at this wonderful little restaurant on Lastarria, and then went to a cake & ice cream shop in Providencia where Brittaney's friends had planned a surprise get together for her.

*TODAY - I have work later tonight, but we're going out for a sushi lunch after we lesson plan. I received 2 new classes today that will be starting this week so I'm super excited. I'll now be working from like 5-8 Monday-Thursday. (48 hrs/month, so I'll be getting more than the minimum salary! woohoo!! $ is good!! )
