en serio?

Okay Chile. You win. I lose. again. for like the 3rd or 4th time. That's right folks, I am sick again. At least each time is slightly different, I appreciate the variety. The first few times were head colds. Stuffy noses, nasty coughs that lasted weeks... well, that lasted until the next cold took hold. It seems to be a never ending cycle. One week sick, one week healthy. This time around, I feel decent except that my throat is on fire every time I swallow or eat. Looking at the bright side of things, since it's just my throat/neck that is in extreme pain, I don't foresee passing out on the metro! :) {that count is at 2 thus far} I'm washing my hands, trying my hardest to not touch the poles & handrails, avoiding the hackers on the bus/metro...but to no avail apparently. Yes mom, I'm gargling with salt water and drinking lots of liquids to try to get bettah asap.

Despite Chile's best efforts to keep me locked in my room with disease, this weekend was a ton of fun. We've all been a little hard-pressed for pesos, so I bought a deck of cards and we've been having Speed competitions the past few days. Needless to say, I've been dominating. Guess all those years of playing in Mexico when we were 8 & 9 have paid off! After cards Sat. night, we went out to the clubs in Bellavista. (I figured I could stay at home and feel like shit, or I could go out and have fun, get drunk, and not really be able to tell I felt terrible, so using my excellent logic & reasoning skills, I decided on the latter.) We danced. and danced. and then danced some more. It was a great night & I can't remember the last time that we were all out together having that much fun.

Today was a fabulously gorgeous sunny day. And it was surprisingly warm outside. I spent a few hours on the balcony listening to music and watching the families & stray dogs play in the park across the street. Bought some 'little cowboys' for dinner (cabellitos - they're the super tiny noodles like what Lipton soup makes) and am now relaxing with my tea waiting for our new roommate to return with her luggage. We have another Frenchie for a one month stint apparently. She had looked at the apt earlier today, however, we were all caught off guard when the buzzer went off at 8pm and she was here to move in. Notice or a heads up from landlords? ha. Yeah right, this is Chile after all. Get serious.
